Templum Saturnia
An ancient Roman temple to the God Saturn. The ruins of the Temple of Saturn sit at the foot of Capitoline Hill in Rome. Thought to have been dedicated in 497BC it was reconstructed by Munatias Plancus in 42BC. The ruins we see today are the third phase of the Temple of Saturn after it was destroyed by fire in 360AD. The temple housed the treasury where the Roman Republic stored their reserves of Gold and Silver.
