Aedes Vestae

Aedes Vestae (Temple of Vesta) housed Vesta’s Holy Fire; a symbol of Rome’s safety and prosperity. Unique in it’s circular design the temple was demolished in 1549AD. It wasn’t until 1931 that 2.5 of the Temple of Vesta’s bays were reconstructed and these still stand today.
